The Sparkle Cast Sister: A Musical Legacy Born in Detroit

In the summer of 1968, three young sisters from Detroit - Tammy 'Sister,' Delores 'Dee,' and Sparkle - embarked on a journey that would change their lives forever. With the help of aspiring record label executive Stix, they formed a girl group and began performing at local nightclubs. Little did they know that their harmonious voices would soon captivate audiences across the country.

The story begins with Sister, the eldest sibling, who has been hiding her passion for singing from her mother Emma, who disapproves of her daughters performing outside of church. Sparkle, the youngest and most outgoing of the trio, convinces Sister to join the group by promising that they can use the prize money from a local talent show to help Sister move out of Emma's home.

As the girls begin to perform together, they quickly gain popularity and attract the attention of Stix, who sees potential in their harmonious voices. With his guidance, the sisters transform into a talented girl group, ready to take the music industry by storm.

The film takes place during the Motown era, a time when Detroit was the hub of musical innovation. Inspired by The Supremes, Sparkle is a remake of the 1976 original film, which tells the story of three teenage sisters who form a girl group in the late 1950s.
